I crafted the following copy examples in response to the Daily UX writing prompts. I used Figma to design wireframes. Brand names, logos, and images used in this exercise belong to their respective owners.
Scenario #1
A user is a working parent, and a big sports fan, in the midst of their favorite sports season who can no longer attend games.
Challenge
Write a promotional screen for an app that lets a user choose teams, sends game reminders, real-time score updates and highlight videos.
- Headline: 40 characters
- Body: 175 characters max
- Button(s): 25 characters max
Solution
I’ve used sports slang that resonates with the app users. The copy is short and succinct, and conveys the message efficiently. “All the action” is a common phrase and eliminates the need to list all the benefits of subscribing. “As it happens” sets the user’s expectation that they will get real-time notifications.
Once the user clicks Subscribe, the subscription page in the app opens, where the user can choose what notifications they want to receive.
Solution 1: MLB
Never miss a single pitch!
{first_name}, MLB 2024 Season is here! Subscribe to get all the action as it happens.
Buttons: Subscribe now, I’ll pass
Solution 2: ICC Cricket
Never miss a sixer!
{first_name}, the World Cup is here! Subscribe to get all the action as it happens.
Buttons: Subscribe now, I’ll pass

Scenario #2
A user is in their favorite supermarket. They open the supermarket’s app on their phone to see what’s on sale and are greeted by a promotion.
Challenge
Write a promotional home screen for a subscription service that delivers groceries to the user once-a-month for a flat fee.
- Headline: 40 characters
- Body: 175 characters max
- Button(s): 25 characters max
Solution
Stock up from your couch!
We’ll deliver groceries at your doorstep each month. First month free. $9.99/mo or $99.99/yr after that. Min order $100.
Extra charges if you order more than once in a month.
