Shaping Developer Experience at AWS
Programmer Writer (Technical Writer II) | Dec 2024 – Present
Currently, I am embedded within the Internal Developer Experience (DX) ecosystem at Amazon. My work focuses on bridging the gap between cutting-edge AI tools and the thousands of developers who use them daily.
Scaling AI Adoption: I led the documentation launch for internal AI tools, creating a unified suite of guides that enabled tens of thousands of developers to onboard seamlessly at launch.
Setting Standards: I authored the AI-Native Software Development Guide and a curated AI Tool Selection Matrix, establishing the foundational best practices for AI-assisted workflows across the company.
Docs-as-Code & DX: I maintain high-quality code samples in curl and bash and manage open-source documentation repositories to ensure internal tools are intuitive and friction-free.
Knowledge Infrastructure: I consolidated fragmented SDLC guidance into the Software Development at Amazon Guide, creating a singular source of truth for the entire organization.
Building Identity Trust at Okta
Senior Technical Writer | June 2018 – Dec 2024
During my six years at Okta, I specialized in Identity and Access Management (IAM), turning complex security protocols into accessible documentation for both developers and enterprise admins.
Architectural Efficiency: I designed a single-sourcing information architecture using MadCap Flare that slashed content duplication by 75%, significantly reducing maintenance overhead for global release notes.
API Documentation: I owned the API reference docs for 15+ Okta Workflows integrations, empowering non-technical administrators to build sophisticated automation without writing code.
UX & Product Strategy: Beyond long-form docs, I crafted UX copy—including error messages and tooltips—to ensure the product interface was as helpful as the manual.
Mentorship: I defined the team’s style guide and led quarterly training for new engineering and product hires to maintain a high bar for documentation across the company.
Academic and Global Foundations
Before diving into the SaaS and Cloud world, my career was rooted in technical instruction and cross-cultural communication.
Technical Writing Instructor (NC State): I taught 300-level engineering students how to translate their technical brilliance into clear, audience-focused communication.
Medical & Technical Translation: I worked with global leaders like Microsoft, Google, and Novartis, localizing complex software UI and clinical trial data into Indian languages.
Healthcare Journalism: My early career was spent as a journalist, where I interviewed researchers and doctors to turn intricate medical systems into compelling narratives.
